If a Fireman comes to your door at 1:00 am to tell you that you need to evacuate your building, they should look like this.....
And not this....
It would make the experience a little bit more enjoyable. I'm just saying...

Feet don't fail me now...

In five short days (yikes bikes!)these lovely feet will be carrying me 26.2 miles. Here are a few goals that I have for this race: * Don't get runner's trot! (you can probably guess what that is) * To beat Katie Holmes's time (she ran the NY marathon in about 5:30) * To not get any blisters * To sing "Living On A Prayer" at mile 13 * To laugh a lot with Marie * To not whine (too much) * To have a really good race experience Good Luck to me, Marie and all other runners!

Here's an alliteration...

A beautiful bee was buzzing on a bum.
So, while at the Farmer's Market with Miss M, a bee flew by and landed on this lady's bum. It took a nice ride for several minutes. I laughed. Marie laughed. And,then we took a picture. Maybe, the nice thing to do would have been to tap her on the shoulder and tell her that a bee was on her bum. But, I am not always that nice. And, it did eventually fly away. And, she didn't get stung. So, I am totally justified in letting the bee rest for a bit. Right??

Random...

1. Miss Marie and I went to see "Rock Of Ages"  Loved it!  We were totally those annoying girls singing to every song.

2. Tom Cruise should really live in a box and only come out when he is going to make movies.  He is a great actor, but kind of a weirdo human being.

3. I have not yet been to Farmer's Market.  Totally tragic.

4. A girl had her name read into my ward.  Her name?  Mary Lamb.  Seriously?  How many times do you think she has heard that song?

5. Brown Toppers from Arctic Circle are my new love.

6. The time has possibly come to cover the teal in my hair.  I am growin' up. Boo.

7. I don't like setting up my classroom, so I will blog instead.  Yea.

8. I still am holding out hope that my lil' sis will have a baby.  She would make adorable babies.  I just want one to cuddle and love on.  Come on Shanny!!

9. "I love my butt!"  "I love my butt!"  If I keep saying that, then maybe it will come true.

10. My cute hairstylist told me that my butt was one of my best features and that I should love it.

11.  I  have always hated my butt.  It has too much of a pop.

12. I love that the Kardashians say "Bible" when they are telling the truth.  That is about the only thing I love that the Kardashians say.

13. I kindof want to live on a farm, but not so I can slop pig and shovel poo.  I want to wear cute gingham shirts, braids, cowboy boots, and drive a tractor.  It just sounds fun.

14. I should learn how to can.  I should learn how to play the piano.  I should learn how to crochet around burp clothes.

15. Ok, scratch that last one.  I have never understood why something that a baby is going to puke on needs a doily on it.  I just don't get it.

16. I love when songs make me think of people.  I was listening to Paul Simon's "Call Me Al."  It makes me think of my friend's mom and brother....Betty and Al.  They are cool people.

17.  Miss Betty, my friend's mom, wears red nail polish.  My mom would never let us wear red nail polish as kids.  Why?  Because ladies of the night wear red nail polish.  I think Miss Betty is super cool for wearing red nail polish....lady of the night or not.

Reason #222 why I love being an Aunt!

My cute niece, Bug, emailed me a few weeks ago to run the North Ogden Cherry Days 5k with her.  I have done a few 5 ks with my nephew, Calvin, but none of my nieces, so I jumped at the chance.  I was excited to run with her and I would dare say, she was excited to run with me.  I spent the night at my brother's house, so I didn't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to get to Ogden in time.  6:00am cam WAY too early, but I was ready to run.  The person yelled, "Ready, Set, Go!" and off we went.  I decided that I was going to run the entire 3.1 miles no matter what.  Afterall, I should be training for the St. George Marathon.  ugh..

The course was nice.  A few little hills and some down hills too.  I cheered Bug on and even sang a few songs.  I only did what a wonderful aunt would do...I tried to embarrass her :)  Ithink I succeeded.  We finished the race and survived!  It was a lot of fun and now I am anticipating another one with her.

Thanks, Bug!  Love you much.

Grey Gardens

I love those little gems that I happen to stumble upon and wonder to myself, "Why in the world have I not seen this before?!" Grey Gardens is that gem. It is so bizarre and yet, I loved it. (What does that say about me? oh well) Grey Gardens is the story of Big and Little Edie...mother/daughter team. They are relatives to Jackie O. These ladies were once members of high society and then became recluses. Grey Gardens becomes dilapitated and unlivable, but they continue to live in it. They start housing all kinds of animals...cats and racoons. It is such a great film. I watched the movie with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. They do Big and Little Edie spot on. I just got the actual documentary and I can't wait to watch it. I only wish that my mom hadn't died at such a young age. I think we could have become a good Big/Little Edie team. She could wear big hats and sing all day. I would wear head scarves and practice tap dancing. We would feed all the stray cats and other wild animals. I could finally live my dream of being an eccentric old broad. Hmmm...maybe, my sister will join me instead.
