Monday April 26, 2010 was my dad's 79th birthday. Just a little shout out to him!
Happy Birthday, Dad! I love and miss you. xoxox

Some fav memories:
My dad doing the voice of Fat Albert "Hey, Hey, Hey!"
Lagoon trips with my dad. We rode the bus from O-town
Visiting my dad at Cream O' Weber. He made ice cream...the best job for a dad to have.
I remember he would draw caricatures on the bags of sugar and run the box smasher. Super cool!
The four of us kids all smashed in the front of our FORD LTD to sit by him...no seat belts required.
Going to my very first haunted house with him and my bro. I was 7. I got pretty scared. I still remember the secure feeling as he carried me the entire way through.

In one week, my sister and I will be flying the friendly skies to NYC to visit some
gorgeous gents and to create other kinds of mischief and merriment. I CAN'T wait!!
I won't be thinking about my final paper or how crappy it is.
I won't be thinking about how lame boys.
I won't be thinking about toilet training, wet pants or who is going to be the teacher.
I won't be thinking about making my bed, cleaning my bathroom or doing the dishes.
I won't be thinking about new health insurance, salon towels, or sunday school lessons.
BUT....
I will be thinking about how much I love A-ha!
I will be thinking about how much fun I am going to have will Heather.
I will be thinking that I wish Shanny were with us.
I will be thinking about the comfy bed I will sleep in and how I don't have to make it.
I will be thinking about The Statue of Liberty, Broadway Shows, and fabulous earrings from H&M
I will be thinking about all the pictures I am going to be taking.
I will be thinking about how lucky I am.
I will be thinking about how much I love creating great memories with my sister.
Oh, I can't wait!

For the Love of Monday....

These are the things that I loved about this Monday:

1. One of my students was brought in by his dad. I was sitting at one of the tables and couldn't see him, but could hear his little voice say, "Is Megan here?" How cute is that? He wanted to go everywhere with me. I really love and adore this kid.

2. One of my former student's mom asked me if I was teaching third grade so her child could be in my class again. That made me super happy.

3. A group discussion of "Finnegans Wake". It sounds weird that I would love talking about such a weird piece of literature, but I liked the people in my group. It was not only educational, but pretty darn entertaining....with a side order of drama.

4. A student laughing so hard that he peed his pants.

5. The same student from #1 saying to me, "I like you, Megan!" Seriously? I love these kids. I really do.

6. I went on a date with a pretty cool guy.

7. Chocolate Milk. Happiness in a cup.

8. My cool earrings that Miss Deb got me from NYC. I love them! I have received many compliments.

9. Birds on my balcony, listening to them chirp in the wee hours of the morning, and the smells of Spring. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!! I wish I could capture it in a bottle.

10. Another student watching from the Library as the window washer cleaned all the windows. When he was done, the student said, "They are sparkling!"

p.s did i mention that I kindof like my students? like a lot!

Sisters.

For my birthday, my two sisters and I got together. I really love spending time with them. They are funny and a bit crazy, just like me. It makes me so stinkin' happy when we get together. We went to eat at Thai Siam (and the cute little server lady filled up our water glasses about a billion times....she really wanted us to stay hydrated!) and then went to Fashion Place Mall to mill about. We tried on some great glasses, laughed ridiculously hard at Fresh Ink cards (my fav), and looked for a purse. I didn't end up getting one., but I still had a pretty sweet time. Love you both!

p.s Heather was taking the picture. And, don't be surpised, Shanny pooh, if those glasses come into your possession.

Festival of Colors!

Before.
AFTER.

Llama, Llama, Llama

The three of us lovely ladies decided to go to the Hare Krishna Temple to the Festival of Colors. It was so fun. We had chalk like colors and threw them on each other and into the wind...symbolic of burying the hatchet. The atmosphere was what I imagine Woodstock to be like, except people were wearing clothes and no one by the name of Jimi or Janis was headlining...but some band that kept singing, "Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna" over and over again. The food was delish, the llamas were cute, and overall it was fantastic!

HE IS RISEN!

I really love Easter! I think of Mary coming to the tomb and finding it empty. That gives me so much hope and comfort that although, I am now seperated from my parents, It is only a temporary seperation. I can't express how much I love the Savior because He overcame death, so that we can also. I miss my parents like crazy....seems more so lately, but I truly rejoice in the glory of the Resurrected Savior and that the tomb was empty that Easter morn. Hallelujah!

SHOCKING NEW!!

YEP, HE'S GAY!!
Ok, Mr. Martin, we loved you when you were so stinkin' little and cute in Menudo. We loved you when you came out with "Livin' La Vida Loca" and we shook our BonBon and I loved dancing to "Shebangs", but did you for one minute think that we thought you were a straight man? Come on! We were all a bit fooled when you had a girlfriend for a nano second, but you didn't fool us when you decided to have twins via surrogate and raise them on your own. All I can say, Mr. Martin is that it is about freakin' time!

Things I love....

1. Spring Break=lots of sleeping in.
2. I lost 6lbs. Yahoo!
