The Grease sing -a-long is pretty much the most fun a girl can have without getting drunk! (only kidding about the getting drunk part) But, it was so much fun! I even got up and danced during, "You're the One that I Want". The lady sitting next to me got up and danced with me. She was hilarious! If anyone wants to go....I will gladly go again! LOVED IT!!

When I was a little girl the one thing that I loved to do was dance. I had had my adenoids out on the day of dance class and still asked my mom if I could go. I was that much in love with dancing. I even called my leotard a teolard. How cute is that? I still love to dance. It just revives my spirits and makes me feel like the world is good again and that I am good again. Well, someone in this world has made things right. Saturday, July 31st is National Dance Day. How fantastic is that? Even if I have to turn on some music in my bedroom, I will find a time to dance. I may find myself down at UVU dancing with the rest of the peeps celebrating this great day. Wanna join me?
I can't wait for fall because then I can start tap dancing up again. And, Zumba....oh, how I have missed thee?
HAPPY NATIONAL DANCE DAY TO YOU!! I hope you find the time to tap your toes and wiggle your bootie.
p.s the picture is of Fred Astaire and Eleanor Powell. Eleanor Powell created the tap dancing step that I finally mastered and was rather proud when I did so. My hats off to her. Man, I wish I had her gams!

Things I learned from Wicked......

My sister and I had a rip-roarin good time at Lagoon. I highly recommend going on Pioneer Day.
It may seem odd that I learned something from a silly, crazy ride, but I did. And, I would like to impart my wisdom to all of my devoted readers!

1. Sometimes scary things can come zoomin' at you really fast. Sometimes the best option is just to close your eyes and let it pass.

2. When going through the unknown or the hills in life, it's totally okay to grab someone's hand. And, it's perfectly ok if you don't know that person. When zooming head first down the big hill, I got a little scared and grabbed the hand of the girl sitting next to me. There wasn't much else to hold onto. Thankfully, she and her mom just laughed about it.

3. You can either laugh or cry...when the crazy stuff starts. I prefer to laugh.

4. Hold onto your cell phone, water bottle, and chapstick. It could go flying out at anytime.

5. It's funny that we will wait in a really long line for something so wild and yet, the ride is over so fast....maybe that is how life is. The long line is where we find joy in the journey and life is the ride that is over way too fast. It's important to enjoy the moments in the line.

6. When riding rides, we are almost always sitting with other people. We really aren't ever alone. That's a good one for me to remember. God doesn't leave us alone to go through this life. (and Lagoon attendants won't let us ride alone, either!)

7. The rules of the ride are there to help us enjoy it and to not get hurt.

8. Get in, sit down, hold on tight, scream if you must, but ENJOY YOUR RIDE!!

Just a few things....

1. I am going to Lagoon tomorrow with my lil sis. I haven't been in years and I am looking forward to it. It brings back great memories of going with my dad. We would go on his work days, take the bus down (which was always an adventure) and stay the whole day. I loved it!

2. Flying grasshoppers hitting you while trying to eat delicious cheesecake is so not cool.

3.I made freezer jam. I felt like a good Mormon woman. Now, If I can just learn how to crochet around burp rags. Ah, who am I kidding? I don't really want to.

4. Advantages to wearing the big chunky ortho boot.....using the elevator at the temple! That's what!

5. Have you ever felt really lonely, even when with friends? I have been struggling with this a lot lately.

6. I wish there was a way to combine my love of reading with a really cool job. Working at Barnes and Nobles is not what I am going for.

7. I really miss dancing. I can't wait until my back and feet are all better so I can dance again.

8. I am totally loving Ray LaMontague (may have spelled it wrong). His voice is like butta!

9. I think I want to learn how to sew. Think of all the possibilities! I could sew my own costumes and such. Then I could make that u-knits (member those?) jumpsuit that I never got to make in 1987. Totally kidding!

10. I just discovered Sonic Chillers. De to the licious. Oh man.

The Neverending Story Trailer

This was one of my favorite movies, as a child. Millcreek showed in yesterday for their movies in the park. I LOVED IT!! It brought back some great memories of watching it with my sis. The 80's really did produce some fantastic shows.

Why Bob Ross is cool (and if he were still with us, why he would be a cool friend!)

I was babysitting the other night, the kid was alseep, so I did some channel surfing. I came acrossed an old episode of the Joy of Painting with Bob Ross. It was like a train wreck that I could not turn away from.

Here are my reasons as to why Bob Ross is super cool and why he would make a great friend.

1. If you sucked at something and called yourself a failure, he would have a really nice comeback. Say you messed up on a painting, he would say that there are no mistakes. I would want him to follow me around all day just to tell me that.

2. I am pretty much convinced that if he were to read me a bedtime story, I would be asleep so fast. He has that ridiculously soothing voice.

3. The hair. That alone just makes him so cool
4. Think of how fun it would be to paint with him. I would not feel horrible about my attempts because I think he would tell me that it looked good.
5. How can a guy that uses the terms, "Happy trees or happy clouds" not be just about the coolest thing ever?
6. He has a the best names for all the colors he uses...titanium white etc.
7. I think he would probably like the Farmer's Market and he would go with me to buy a zucchini or something as delish as that.
8. If he were my friend, I think I would probably get a painting for my birthday. Ok, so his painting style is not really my preference, but it would still be a nice gesture.

Emma Pillsbury

I am pretty much in LOVE with Emma Pillsbury's (from Glee) sweet vintage look. If only I could dress like she does, I would be in heaven. Seriously. But, where does one go to find such great clothing?

Well....at Anthropologie! That's where. They not only have wonderful skirts, shirts, and pants. They have the cutest aprons, door knobs, pillows, shower curtains etc. I just love window shopping in this store. It makes me feel a little French and rich. But, since I pretty much live on a teeny tiny teachers (love the alliteration!) salary, I can just wish and hope for an Anthropologie wardrobe someday and to adorn my body with adorable clothes like Miss Pillsbury.

But, I was pretty excited when I went into the Antique Mall and found this sweet curtain that has a great pattern on it. I am hoping I can sweet talk someone into making it into a skirt for me.

Happy 16th Birthday, Dosh!!

This kid is turning 16!! He's pretty fantastic. Here are some things that I love about him...
* He is a really good kid. He will still let me hug him.
* He towers over me.
* Before I went on my mission, I watched him every day and I loved it.
*When I was leaving to go on my mission, he must have forgotten who I was because he was giving me some delightful crusties.
* He is the first grandchild, on the Keeney side, so he had his Grandma Kaye wrapped around his little finger.....most of the food at the house was for him and he could stay up for hours watching Cartoon Network. (okay, that kindof makes me sound a little bitter, but sometimes I just wanted to eat a can of Spaghetti O's and watch Felicity)
* He once said (as he was putting his pajamas on), "Sometimes I fall over when I only have one leg!" Um...okay.
* On a trip to Island Park, he was my driving buddy. He was 6, but it was still fun. I would tease him about driving so I could sleep. His response was, "but I'm only 6"
* Diving in the hot tub
* Sleepovers at my house
* I loved that he participated in the celebration program for the Draper Temple.
* He wanted (and may still) to grow up and be like his dad. That's really sweet.
* He told me once some tips that Grandma Kaye taught him, "Always eat your fruits and vegetables and if something is hot, eat the outer edges first while the middle cools down." Pretty smart kid!
*I love him oodles and I hope that he has a fantastic birthday.

This is pretty much the most exciting things EVER!! However, it's not coming to Salt Lake City....insert super sad face. But, we can demand it. Just click on the demand it sign! This would pretty much turn my frown upside down.

Dear BIRDS,
I really love waking up in the morning and listening to your beautiful, happy Chirping Noises. It really does make me happy. But, must you use My newly cleaned WHITE CAR as a toilet? Can't you aim your little bird behinds the other direction, so that it hits the grass and not my car. It's just a little something to make it a pleasant day for the both of us!

Love,
Megan

IF......

He can bring...
This back...

Do you think I could bring this back?

I'm just saying!
