Monday murmurings and memories....

1. I had an appointment today and the doc kept using the word "prophylactic". He wasn't using it in the sense of condom etc., but it gave me the giggles...inside my head! I didn't want to appear too juvenile.

2. I wish Shaq had my back.

3. LOVED the new Sherlock Holmes movie. I am going to pray for Guy Ritchie and his desire to make a second one.

4. For Christmas, I got leg warmers and the TV show "Arrested Development". What more could a girl want?

5. Ok, I would love for Dwayne 'The Rock" Johnson to join the faith and move into my ward and fall madly in love with me. Is that so much to ask?

6. I got an email from the Sunday School president and it said, "We want to start a missionary class. One for the dead and one for the living." Again, I got the giggles. It just sounded so funny.

7. A newlywed couple spoke in my ward yesterday. They gushed about each other the entire time. I threw up in my purse....We got it, you are BFF's and love each other so much. Enough.

8. I am craving Thai food.

9. You know what words I hate? Moist and panties. I also hate the word potty. Blech.

10. I love that I get to sleep in tomorrow. Yep, I am rubbing it in.

11. "Glee" comes out on DVD tomorrow.

12. I switched the red streak in my hair to blue. It looks pretty fantastic.

13.I am excited for 2010!

14, Amen.

"I Just Haven't Met You Yet!"

I am in love with this song! I think this is my new theme song and my new mantra for 2010. Oh, and if I were to see Michael Buble shopping in the freezer section of my grocery store (Go Dan's!), you better believe I would take him home over some silly Steamables!

Friday Freakouts and fluff....

1. On Mondays I clean my hairdresser's salon. I had to go to the bathroom so bad that I clogged the toilet and then made it overflow. I am so glad he wasn't there. I said some pretty bad words.

2. I went to Target and working there is a guy wanting to become a lady. He must be "in transition".

3. Why do I eat so much sugar? I am starting to get some major headaches. My addiction must stop!
4. So, I have been trying the internet dating thing. Does this make me a total loser? Oh well. I have had some weirdos instant message me. I think one guy was looking to hook up with me! Blech...

5. My sister sent me some Scentsy bars that I bought from her and inside was a super hot picture of Chris Farley. It totally made my day!

6. I really want to get my sis a big Scentsy sticker for the back of her car. Someday, little sis!

7. The Muppets singing with John Denver is still one of my most favorite Christmas albums. It brings back some good memories.

8. I wish I could find all of the chapsticks that I have lost. They are probably playing with that one missing sock. It's such a mystery.

9. My nephew, Bear, helped me with my Gospel Doctrine lesson. It was on putting on the whole armor of God. He put on the whole armor. He was a good sport and even more so, when I cried and called him adorable. He's 11 and probably doesn't want his aunt to call him adorable in front of a bunch of adults. But, he is adorable!!

10. I ususally write Christmas letters, but have been super duper lame! I may make them New Year's cards. Is that ok?

11. I love the smell of orange peel, cloves, and cinammon cooking! It's so delightful.

12. I had Mandt training today. I laughed so much. It was actually fun.

13. Mistletoe....hmmmm.

14. I love blogging!

15. I really wish that life were a musical. I just think life would be so much more enjoyable if we broke into song and dance AND if everyone else did too!

Sometimes....

Sometimes, I want to throw in the towel, at my job, and run away. Sometimes, I get really tired of wrestling with kids, getting bit, having a playdough can hit my head, or listening to a kid tantrum for 30 minutes. Sometimes, I want to work somewhere where it is very nice and quiet and I can read. But, only sometimes.....

Today was not one of those sometimes. Today was a day where I realized how much I love my job and how much I love my students and how much they make me happy and really proud to be their teacher. Today was one of those days when I felt like I was finally doing something right (or maybe it was just luck)

You see, we had our Christmas program. We were celebrating Christmas around the World. Our class was Australia. We had practiced a song over and over again that I am pretty sure I will have dreams about it. We had little speaking parts for four of the verbal kids in the class. It was going to be great. We rehearsed. The rehearsal was an utter disaster! The kids were all over the place, they weren't singing and some were even crying! (It was a Calgon moment!)

But, then the actual program started. The kids were dressed up in their swim trunks, Hawaiian shirts, and flip flops. They looked so stinkin' cute! We filed out onto the stage. I counted to three and the kids sang the song! And, even jingled their bells as they sang. It was wonderful. But, then the speaking parts came. I was worried that little A wouldn't talk into the microphone (he can be super shy), but he crouched down by me and read his part with no problems. Then, from the back, C shouts out "My turn!" The parents laughed! He grabbed the mic and began saying his part. G decided he didn't want to do it, so C did his as well. He hammed it up for the parents. It was so funny! I was so proud.........I wanted to cry! Then as we walked out, B shouted, "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!" The parents laughed.

So, today was a very good day!

30 seconds to Mars

Last Monday night, I went to see 30 seconds to Mars. I went with some fab friends, Rob and Deb. I really like their music. But, the craziest thing happened to me while I was moshing! Jared (the delicious front man and the former Jordan Catalano from "My So Called Life") started crowd surfing, but while he was doing so, he and I made eye contact, he got out of the crowd and walked over to me (yep, it was a bit awkward) and said, "You are the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen!" "Will you be my girlfriend?" Isn't that about the craziest thing you have ever heard. How could I deny Jared the chance to love me? I just couldn't. That's when I rolled over and fell out of my bed. Dang. The concert was pretty good. They played the songs that I love (I highly recommend looking up on youtube "Kings and Queens" It is one delightful song!) and then I left because Jared has quite the mouth on him and my ears started burning, but my affection and lustful desires have not changed!

Pink Glove Dance

My cute Relief Society President passed this gem onto me. She told me that she could see me doing something like this. I like her a lot! Enjoy!

Festival of the Trees

I took my students to the Festival of the Trees today. It is crazy, noisy, overstimulating and then they have these stupid white chains to keep kids from touching the trees, but white chains and kids with Autism just don't mix! They love to hang on the chains. All in all, the kids were great, except when C decided to throw a fit and had to be carried onto the bus. (I still adore that kid!) The trees are always amazing and it ends up being a pretty great time! I highly recommend it.

Thanksgiving a.m

On Thanksgiving, Calvin and I ran the Utah Human Race 5k. Ok, maybe I shouldn't say that we ran it. I jogged and sometimes skipped while Calvin walked it. I think he is either getting more mature or able to handle my craziness a little better. I wore some pretty fab leopard print tights and when nearing the end of the race, I sang a few melodies to him. He didn't seem to mind...it may have been because he was all hopped up on squeezable Sweet Tarts! And, we finished the race with our classic slow-mo ending. It really was a lot of fun and a great time with a great kid! (oh, and check out the first picture...the lady wearing the surgical mask! I don't remember seeing her. I think she is one of the three nephites making sure that we make it to the end.)

Thursday thoughts

1. I just realized that my shirt has been on backwards the entire day. That is awesome!
2. I am loving my new scentsy scents. My sister is the seller, so if you are looking for some, I've got a sweet hook up!
3. I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, but I substituted the shortening for applesauce and the sugar for agave nectar. I am not gonna lie, they taste pretty divine!
4. I am picking up Ike tomorrow at 6 am....yikes, but I do love that kid, so it's totally ok.
5. A boy made me sad yesterday and I cried. I hate that.
6. I am wearing a sweater that I got in high school. I just haven't been able to get rid of it. I still like it.
7. I wore my Bon Jovi shirt to our Relief Society Christmas party. I felt bad at first until I remembered that they do sing a song about livin' on a prayer, so it's totally legit.
8. I am watching Arrested Development again. That show makes me laugh outloud and I love it!
9. Sarah McLachlan's CD "Wintersong" is one of my most favorite Christmas CDs.
10. I haven't exercised once this entire week. I feel sort of lame(not like my legs don't work, but like I am just pitiful!).
