But, my sister's and I went to see Mr. Richard Marx in concert, along with my wonderful hairdresser. Yep, the last time I saw him perform was back in 1980 something. It was so great! The concert was fabulouso and I had a great time with the peeps I was with. Richard Marx put on a great concert. He was funny, his fly was down for a brief moment, and he NO LONGER SPORTS THE MULLET!! I really like all of his songs, except for the blasted "Right Here Waiting" And wouldn't you know that is the song he ended with. Blech!
The story of why I detest this song so much, goes back to when I was a young girl of about 14. My beautiful older (and could date)sister and I went to youth conference at Utah State. SO. MUCH. FUN! We met some really cool people and some pretty cute boys. Well, I had met one named Jason, that I thought was especially cute. Now, knowing that my sister was at the appropriate age to date, and that she was cute, I warned her that I liked him and to not flirt with him. Did my sister listen? NOPE!! My heart broke as I watched them dance across the floor and as Jason started liking my sister. boo hoo. It was just so sad and so dramatic. I was, afterall, 14!! So, I took a vow of silence against my sister. And, my poor little sister was stuck in the middle of it all. She affectionately calls that the "Summer from Hell" (that and the summer I couldn't stop talking about making a uknits jumper...member them?) I was so mad at my older sister. He liked her and not me. How could he? So, where does this lame-o song come into play. IT WAS THEIR BLASTED SONG!! I wanted to die or puke all over my shoes. Well, the guy slowly faded out of the picture, my vow of silence ceased(hello, I am chatty chatterson), and my love for that song never grew. But, the concert was still wonderful!!
